Here are the pics of my maiden voyage and my mods so far.

You can see the air problem I was having. Thanks to those that helped me solve that problem [Wink]

What size and schedule PVC did you use for your forward rod holder? I need two just like it.

Luke72, The PVC is 1"1/4 Sch 40.
In the new pics you can see how I offset the holes for the clevis pin(It was an extra that came with my toon. Don't know if they send an extra or I got lucky)
Offsetting the holes kicks the rod holder to the outside. It keeps the rod out of the way when the oar is at rest.

Majja, I used a Dremel tool to do all my cutting. Then I used a sanding bit to clean up my cuts.

Thank God for the Dremel tool![Wink] It's Gods gift to people that don't like stuff straight from the store.[Tongue]

I see a cotter pin thur the pvc...tell me about it. Were u using that to use it as a different levels for the rod or is it a quick teardown/add on?

Using the pin was just a quick and easy way to attach the rod holder. It also makes it easy to remove when packing the toon in the car.(I haven't got a roof rack yet) The hole was already drilled from the factory. There is one on each side for the stock rod holder. The stock rod holder is short and is really only good for holding a rod while changing lures. It's not very good for use while moving under power.

The lake I was on was Crabtree Lake in Raleigh. It was just an easy place to have my maiden voyage. I hear there is good fishing there, but the water quality is very poor. A local business was dumping chemicals nearby[Sad] and that has kept me from fishing there.
