Willard scouting trip
#1
[black][size 3]Hey Folks,[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I was just wondering if anyone wanted to drive up to Willard from the Salt Lake area in the next few days for a little scouting trip. [/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]PM me if interested in sharing a ride, splitting gas or getting up there to check it out now that the water is low. It could be a good opportunity to look at the bank areas for close in structure and the dike rip-rap and shore line contours that are currently visible. [/size][/black]

Is there any ice left with this warm weather at willard? I'm taking some kids this weekend and was wondering if it would be safe. Can anybody help?

There is plenty of ice left at Willard, from what I saw on Friday and Saturday, the whole lake is frozen. The edges are melting fast and in some areas there is open water, starting with a few feet to a few yards in other spots. I would really doubt anyone could get on the ice but it might be possible to catch some fish by casting to the edge of the ice and trying for those hungry fish that must be waiting for ice off.[Wink] WH2

The last time I was out there ice fishing, the water was below the level of the main dike...not by much though. I would imagine it has gone down a little over the past couple of weeks though.

It's been a while since I used that Willard bay camera. Found out they have changed the location of the camera. For those that don't already know, the old location was the South end of the marina's bay, the new location is above the ramp on the North side of the marina.

I keep trying to use the Willard Bay web cam but just keep getting disconnected. Is it operational yet?

It worked all day for me. Jordenelle, UT lake and bear lake also worked.

Yes, the Willard cam is working. Have you had problems with any of the other lake web cams before? Maybe there was a lot of people trying to get on the site at the same time. Give it another try and see what happens.
