Report from Rivers End Tackle,seminars
#1
UPDATED BY PAT ON FRIDAY, April
6th, 2007

STRIPED BASS- They're still at Hamburg Cove with significantly lower
numbers. It seems that every bass in the cove must have been hooked at
least twice. We have been getting reports for two weeks now of schoolies
being caught at the DEP Piers. This is an indication that stripers,
probably winter holdovers are in the main body of the Connecticut River.
The Thames has had another good week centered around Norwich Harbor.

FLOUNDER- The season opener was a bust for most anglers. A few good
catches were reported from Bluff Point last Sunday and it went downhill
from there. Niantic also had just a few flats reported, hopefully it will
pick up as the waters warm.

SEMINARS- I had a major screw up. I had Pat Renna scheduled for
tomorrows tube and worm seminar, unfortunately I couldn't keep my dates
straight. It was supposed to be on the following Saturday, April 14th. Pat is
speaking at Connecticut Outfitters on April 7th. Bruce Millar will be
giving tomorrows seminar. My apologies for any inconvenience this may
have caused.

Saturday April 7th at 11am- Trolling the Tube and Worm with Capt. Bruce
Millar of the "Otter". Bruce targets larger bass with his techniques
and the reports of the "fifties" he has boated over the last few years
are a testament to his methods.
Saturday April 14th at 11am- Fluke Fishing with Bob Sampson
Saturday April 28th- Saltwater Fly Fishing School with Lou Tabory- Call
us for details

Good seminar on tube&worm. Included boat handleing to present the bait, how far off the bottom, keeping the drag loose for the big girls, taking into account speed of tides. Had about 40 peaple there but no snacks.[unsure]
