Pumphouse, Utah lake.... How to get there?
#1
Since I've only fished UL one time before.... I was wondering how to get to the pumphouse. Where is it.... Saratoga Springs? If so, must one cross private property to get out there? Is there a good place to launch a tube/toon? I'll be coming from Midvale.... Thanks!!!

Wow, is that the same pumps I know?

Old remnant of the Dark Ages..Absolutely! Haunted too! I won't tell any stories or you won't dare go down there [shocked]

Stacked with eyes, cats, and bass...not when I've been there, but it's not bad.

Ok, how to get there...hard to explain. I'm just not good at explaining[crazy]

If you're on I-15 exit at the Lehi Roller Mills and go west through Lehi. (it's usually a traffic mess thanks eaglets)
Continue on through town. Stop at the Lehi Bakery and get some of the best donuts in the state.(shameless plug..they have square donuts..why waste the corners!) Continue west through town, past the round-a-bout till you get to the new Jr High. At the Jr High turn left(south). Continue on this road till you get to the turn in the road the edge of the lake. The road just turns west and keeps going. You will cross the Jordan river. There is parking by the river. Lots of folks fish there. That's the north (river)side of the pumps. To get to the south (lake)side of the pumps keep driving past the Jordan river. You will pass Inlet Park(why inlet? it's the outlet). Parking and fishing there too. Keep going to the next parking area. There is a bathroom at this parking area. Now you're at the parking for the pumps(and the hot springs). Walk out the (south)end of the parking area, go across a metal bridge over the outlet.(fish here too) Once across the bridge keep on the trail and head east till you get to the pumps. You could get lost here for hours, but just keep trying. If you see a local..follow..they know where they are going.

Now aren't you glad you asked????

You can come down Red Wood Road from SLC also. If you do, turn east at the cross roads(light) and go down to the Jr High. Turn right(south) and follow the instructions above. You can continue through the cross roads and take some other roads east and find your way also.

I don't know any easy ways to get a tune or tube to the pumps. If the pumps are on, I don't think it would be a good place to be, but others may think differently.

Shoot me a PM when you go and maybe I can come down. I live in Lehi.

Hope this helps

Over the river and through the woods. Literally. Stop at water, fish. [Wink] Nobody mentioned that it's full of carp also, and crap. Last time I was there (a few days ago) there were beer cans and worm containers and just garbage everywhere. High water makes it limited fishing. I fish that area alot shoot me pm if you want some details.

Private ramp. I imagine you could always ask, whats the worst they can say? The channel is deep enough to launch a ski type boat. I was in there on my boat a few days ago. 8-12' of water.

I had never been out to the pumps either so I decided to follow Chesters directions and sure enough, he knows how to get there.

There were about 8 guys fishing the outlet side of the dam? spillway? anyway, I did see one fellow net what looked like a trout ( I was almost to the car) It was pretty windy the day I was out there so I didnt bother to get the rod out of the truck. Lots of junk in the water, cans, bottles, etc.... kinda a mess actually. I might try and hit it next week sometime if the weather clears up....... Whatcha think chester? You schooled me on the hard water, how about a few pointers on the soft stuff?
