If I Wanted To Paint The Fat Cat.....

Firstly, I just got notification that the Fat Cat shipped out today, I should receive it early next week!!!!

Now, if I don't like the mustard color, I would want to paint it blue or black. What paint can I use to paint the denier fabric?

I guess I would have to take off the bladder before painting, right?

Also, if I did paint it blue or whatever color, will it be darker than the color I choose, or will it be that same color?

Also I talked to a buddy that works in a sporting goods store in So Calif, they sell Hotspot float tube fins. He'll be able to get them for $50. I have a pair of the camo on hold till I can send him the money next week. The So Calif float tube crowd just give high praises for the Hotspot fins.

Wouldn't putting BLUE on it make it turn GREEN? It is a cloth, so I have no clue on a paint. I would think Ritz dye, but I know TD and TB have flames or something like that painted ontheirs so I am sure he can answer first hand.

[cool][#0000ff]There are fabric and upholstery paints available through auto parts and tent/awning stores. The main problem with a lot of that stuff is that you have to heat set it. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I tried painting some designs with two or three different kinds of paint. Actually the best results, that have lasted the longest in water and the elements, is plain old Krylon (see pics). It is still holding up whereas the other stuff is cracking and peeling.[/#0000ff]

GHOST YOU SHOULD JUST STICK WITH THE COLOR THE TUBE IS. SAFETY WISE THAT COLOR MAKES IT EASIER FOR OTHER BOATERS TO SPOT YOU IN THE WATER AND AVOID RUNNING INTO YOU SPECIALLY IN BIGGER BODYS OF WATER. THE FISH DON'T CARE WHAT COLOR YOUR TUBE IS. MY .02
