Fished East Canyon on Tuesday with LunkerHunter2 and his son from LH2's boat.

Between LH2 and I, we managed about 10 bows or so, 4 of which went home foor dinner. The bows are really fat. We got 2 that went around 17", and LH2 lost one at the boat that looked about 19" or so.

During the autopsy we notced a Gulp Minnow in one of them fish. The rest of them were full of plankton and bugs. No real minnows this time.

Very fun day! [cool]

Has the water flooded the upper-end brush where the stream comes in?

We went pretty much all the way up the arm, but I don't recall whether the brush was flooded there or not. With that said, the lake was about a foot and a half below the high water mark so....
We did find other areas by the ramp with submerged brush. We threw various jigs to try and score some smallies with not even a nibble. Water temp was 47*, so I think they are still holding rather deep.

There was no real go to lure. We caught them on Jakes, Rapalas, wedding rings, etc. Brody got most of his on the downrigger, where I got all of mine longlining.

I think the fish were still a bit finicky with the wacky weather. There were a few areas that we would get 6-7 fish come up off the bottom and chase our downrigger stuff, and we wouldn't get hit.

Can't wait to get back up there. [cool]

That 2nd pic is kind of an ugly fish? Does it have some growth on its mouth or is that me just becoming delusional here at work in front of the computer wishing I was there?
