H3 Apron
#1
Rather than further Hi-Jack of the other post I am starting a new one for you H3 owners.

Here is the optional apron for them. They are very rigid which is nice. The foam and the graphite rod help in that. And they are a nice basket shape.

I removed the Graphite rod to make it more flexable. The graphite rod is in the curve of the Apron and easily removed or replaced.

Scadden suggest to attach them to the velcro straps on the bags.

Larry Tullis suggest attaching it to a belt on your body so you can swing it to the side if need be.

I took the rod out so you can scrunch it and I attached it backwards with a bungie and the first two rings on the front of the tube.

So you can see you have many options and the stripping apron can also be used on Pontoons. Any Pontoon.

[black][size 3]Good looking apron, I like the high sides.[/size][/black]

What is the width of it? How does it attach if you don't do it "Joni style"?

so you attached the apron to the pontoons leaving the rounded side flopping around in your lap???

It is 34" wide by 21" deep. Give or take an inch.
There is two velcro loop about 4" in in each end of the straight part. You undo the loop and attach it to the Velcro straps on the inside of the side bags on the tube itself. I tried it, but it sits on top of the bags and too high to me so I turned it around so it sits in my lap.

How much does it add to the cost?

I wished I could answer that right on the money, but I am a guide. I am going to guess $40 to $50, but I could be way off.

Mac....no flop, it is still kinda rigid with the foam walls. It just lays in my lap and I can rest my elbows while stripping the line in.

[Smile] I did not mean flopping literally...guess better way to say it is that end is loose or not attached as the other side is... sorry for the confusion...

Maybe a crock, but the price of the H3's did come down and this apron is delux. You don't need an apron with this, but it is nice.

FG..

I forgot about the frog .. it looks so simple but dangerous at the same time (for the fish I mean)....but that is not the one I am talking about.. you sent two fluffy flies.. about an inch square... with flashabou as a tail... one is white.. one is green...I assumed it was the bread that you showed us in that other post with the carp flies (the one in float tubing where you tell Zonker you had won some carp flies.. like the third one down and you call it bread)... also noticed a couple had a weed guard but did not see any with the drop loop..(no that is not a complaint).....

love the box.. which one of you made it... and the fly on display.. I had forgotten you promised me that one.. but obviously you did not forget...[Wink]

love the pistol pete.. I can see that will be killer with bass once I learn how to use it right...

Oh yeah. The balls out of Yarn. That was from a tier in Idaho.
Not sure what it represents, but with the dumb bell eyes it should sink. I think that the colors are because fish key in on White and Chartreuse.

Im thinkng a piece of white or green bread floating at or near the bottom should be entcing for a bottom dweller... maybe a carp or catfish...

what about the box.. did you or Allan make it?? either way love it and the flies inside it... [sly]

Hey Macfly55. if you get into a bind as to what to add, you can always get some yarn in a jar. Ask FG about it. It comes in about 30 different flavors and colors.[cool]
