Lake Champlain NY
#1
Sat. we headed out of Westport NY. Great launching area, CT should take notes. Headed north to Town Farm Bay and fished slow through rocks, points, weed and worked our way south down to Fields Bay. My only fish for the day came from a Rapala jointed crankbait on a point. Water was 61 degrees, clarity was only 2ft,and no beds to be found.
Sunday we headed across to Button Bay to hunt for clear water and found it. One fish again on a point that fell to a black slider. Found a great looking bay with all the makings for bass and nothing. Started to rain at 10:30 so we called it and headed home. Can't say I'd run back up soon. Maybe it's better down the south end or it's just me. A word to the wise, if your not a runner, swimmer, biycle rider, kayaker you don't belong in the town of Lake Placid. We weren't made to feel welcome with a 18ft boat. Like they said, they don't get boats here often. [crazy]
