[cool][#0000ff]Hey folks, I know we have been counting on the gorilla floatilla Friday the 27th for quite a while. But, in view of the unsettled weather this week and the forecast for NORTH winds all afternoon and evening on Friday, I think I am inclined to save the time and gas money on this trip.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I prefer to fish Utah Lake only after a couple or three days of calm weather. It ain't been calm. I also prefer to fish it with a mild south breeze...if any breeze at all. I hate fishing it with a north wind. Every time I have been fishing and the north wind comes up the fishing dies. North winds up to 10 mph are supposed to happen until almost midnight. Not good.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Thought I better post my intentions as soon as possible for those who have made special arrangements and might not want to brave the breezes either.[/#0000ff]

I guess if were gonna do it, we best do it right. Sign me up for whenever it's rescheduled for! (Now I better go put bait back in the freezer before I forget and ruin it all.)

[cool][#0000ff]Our next "planned" gorilla floatilla was semi officially set for Tuesday morning, August 14th. Hopefully Mama Nature will settle down a bit by then and we can bring that one off okay.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]I hope the weather forecast is wrong, and that it is a nice evening. I just don't want to drive all the way down from Salt Lake to verify that the forecast was right.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]In reality, the forecasts have been wrong...both ways. Wind when it is supposed to be calm, and vice versa. The one thing I am confident will be a reality is the muddy water. That should not affect catfish, but it often does on Utah Lake. It definitely shuts down the bite for white bass and walleyes.[/#0000ff]

TubeDude I don't blame you. If I had to drive that far I would think twice too.

That said Out4aFloat and I don't have that far to drive so we will still be down there tonight. Simple minds know no better I guess. Anyone who wants to show up and join us is more then welcome. Chanel 5 on the radios last time out so give us a call.

Earlier this week when I was down there the bite was off when the thunder storm rolled over. But when it passed and the water calmed the white bass were everywhere. They were jumping so close to my tube, a couple of them splashed me. I only managed to bucket one and one channel cat, but had a lot of fun. I fish for catfish, rarely spend time for white bass. But they (WB) were messing with my cat bait under a bobber all night long.

tlspyder13 and I will be down there around 6:00pm.

Yes it is. I have never been there but had it on my list to fish sometime. I am from the magic valley area and drove up to a resevoir that had water this spring but was a puddle a few weeks ago. Fish creek is another that is empty this year and I am sure more are heading that way.

Lord send us some rain.

We have booked and are getting ready for the WEEK long trip to the "H" for the third week of Sept. Getting some good feedback from the local boys. If you are interested in trying the "H" we would love to meet you in person. We will be at Red Rock.

Made to Henry's last July right when most of it slowed down to a dead stop. We fishrd on the east side , can't remeber the name, but paid to park there and then went around to red rock and fished the cliff in the afternoon, I got a bump there, thenunfortunately one of the 3 some wanted to go home so we did.

Not sure about Sept as thats bean harvest here and that what I do is work for a bean company, hurts my archery time too. Never know tough might rain and I can have the weekend off.

Love to meet you as well and watch ya bring in one of those trophy's like last year.
