Well, the slow day at Jordanelle on Wednesday with TubeDude was not an anomaly. Went to Lincoln Beach today with a co-worker and it was even worse.
We were on the water at 7:00 am. I didn’t even get a bite until 10:00. But surprise, surprise it was a 9 ½ inch perch. That was quickly followed by a mud cat, and that was followed a few minutes later by a small white bass. Then it stopped. My buddy got a few bites throughout the morning, but no fish.
It was overcast all morning. The sun only peeked out for a few minutes about the same time I caught my 3 fish. The wind varied all morning from non-existent to a slightly breezy. At 11:15, just in time to head back to work, it started blowing like crazy. Made it real difficult to get off the lake in our tubes, but luckily we were pretty close to shore and by 12:00 we were headed back to work.

[cool][#0000ff]I think you probably did pretty well, considering you did not have any "meat" for bait...minnows or carp chunks. Utah Lake can be fickle during weather changes, but it should be really good really soon.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The perch is not an unusual catch this time of year. I got several on white bass lures about this time last year, and we catch a lot of them through the ice in the harbors.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]That jig in the whities chops looks familiar.[/#0000ff]

I'm thinking of going down there this Wednesday. If you want I'll have my radio on channel 5.

I want to go back. I'm not sure if I can make it on Wednesday, but I will fire off a PM if I can.

It sounds like you guys had a good trip to Strawberry. I too just wish it was a little closer. I've floated it a couple times this year and want to go back, but the extra drive makes it hard when you only have a few hours to fish.

[cool][#0000ff]There has been some good white bass action and a few walleyes showing up. It was good (off and on) last year at this time. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have a couple of spots I want to check out...for water level and fish activity. I will be hitting it several times before the end of the year.[/#0000ff]

If I can swing it, I may fish a few hours before work Wednesday. Unless you are worried about the "Ryan Factor" getting in the way or your success. Going to Lindon vs Lincoln gives me another 30 minutes or so of fishing. Although, the way I've been doing 30 more minutes probably won't mean much.

I'm still waiting for the UPS guy to deliver my mares fins. If they get here in the next couple of days its going to be hard for me not to want to try out my new birthday presents.

[cool][#0000ff]Change in plans. TubeBabe and I are going to hit Lincoln Beach Tuesday afternoon instead. Forecast is for more wind than I like on Wednesday morning.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Whimper, whimper. Maybe I can just pull the covers up over my head and it won't get me.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We are planning to stop at Lindon on the way down this afternoon. If it is fishable, that is where we will float. If not, then we will go on to Lincoln Beach.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If the weather forecast changes by tonight...for the better...we might head up to Willard for a morning shot.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]After Wednesday we are going to be pretty tied up and busy getting ready to go back to Tennessee from the 9th to the 15th. But, look out fishies after that.[/#0000ff]
