Noobie with a reel question.
#1
Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to fishing and love it. I'm mainly interested in salt water fishing and was wondering if anyone can help me out with a question. I'm interested in purchasing a Shimano Calcutta Conquest 400 reel. This reel is exclusive to the Japan market and not in the U.S. Does anyone know if I can get the warranty serviced in the U.S. if I have any problems with it? If not, I was opting to the Calcutta TE 400.

Suggest you get in touch with Shimano. In my past experience it's best to send to Shimano reels for service. Why not look at the Diawa Sealine series reels or Penn graphite series. They are dependable reels and reasonable. Just a suggestion.

For a lot less money and hassle, you can get the Okuma San Juan 400 series. It costs much less and has a quicker turn around time in case of malfunction.

I am testing one right now for all different species. If I can't break it, then I know it would be something worth buying.[cool]
