Trout Camp Derby 2003

Trout Camp is comming up fast. (by reservation only. limited to a sertain number of campers) (family campers recomended)(no adult campers without children-no children with out adult supervision)

Trout Camp Derby is an open derby.

sorry ma and pa,[] you must be under 16 to enter.

Trout Camp is the last fryday april 25th

Trout Camp derby is saturday april 26th the day after.

trout camp is a program geared for kids and their familys for a learning experieance. with the best rustic features available. fire pit, pavilian, electricity when it is thundering and lightning, running water, of which is stocked full of trout and is running down stream.

if you have a camper on the back of a pickup you may get away with parking in the lot. if you have a camper trailer then you will have to camp at the regular camp site.

we are at the organizational camp. no vehical allowed. its a walk in walk out deal. we do have all the modern out houses compeat with more than a abundance of stink.[sly]

I havent been back in there yet this year, I hope to this week end. I will check to see if the well pump is going to be in on time this year. if not we will have to cary our own drink. (we will be serving tropical punch. Kool Aid Brand-one of our sponcers.)

Stormy I think is planning on being there,

Catchum is going to be there for sure. He is passing up his turky hunt to cover this. Catchum is a graduate of 4-H My last club.

camp fees are on a per perosn basis and not camp site.

I've been on a few trout opener trips with Dave, they are a blast. I really look forward to this years trip, hopefully we can get some kids to join us. I know they will have a blast; I always did.

no, you dont have to camp out the night before, I will be there the night before cause I want to do some peromtional stuff. for a fishing club, for 4-H and for bigfishtackle. allong with showing the names of those of whom are our sponcers.

this is a first time derby like the ice fishing derby, so we have no idea of what the turn out will be like.

for those who are concidering to attend the camp, the camp cost is $1.oo per person, it dose not go by camp rate.

send me the p.m. , we have an old shasta "wings" self contained with water , privey and all the kitchen comforts , no t.v. , just books and games and fishing gear . if catchem has turkey hunt in this area of mine i can scout him out a bird . can't guarintee he'll get a trophy , but i know where they are .

he is going to bypass the bird hunt for doing the trout camp, he has a place he goes to every year I dont remember where it is, you would have to ask him.

I went down there to take pics of the camp site so every one could get an idea of just how rustic it realy is, and baught new batteries for my camera, would you beleive it, the batteries wer DOA. ticked me right off. but only for a few minutes, I started trout fishng and hooked in to 4 rainbows.

there is no running water there, and it looks like the well (hand pump has been gone for several years) Not to worrie though I will be hauling in a 5 gallon bottle of water.

like I said before there are no vehicals that can get in there. (not allowed on the service road)

[center]for those of you who make the treck in time to get a parking spot for trout camp on fryday, here is where you will be able to rost your winners and mellows over an oak and maple camp fire. (no fire on saturday)[/center] [center][/center]

[center]for those of you who choose to arive by other means (by canoe available for rental over night) there is a dock to aid in the unloading of your gear.[/center] [center] [/center]

[center]for those of you who choose to arive on saturday morning, plan on comming early, you may need to wait in line for a parking space, first come first serve. (no reservations for eather camp on fryday or derby on saturday) you must park in designated parking areas. you must have a park pass eather a daily or yearly pass. pick up a self registration pass at the park office prior to parking so you wont have to worie about it later.[/center] [center]you can enjoy a mile and a half of winding shallow river that is stocked full of trout for the taking, (they wont live through the summer)[/center] [center]kiddies no wading in the river with out both a parent and thermal waders. the water tho it may be shallow is the tempiture of a icecream soda.[/center] [center][/center]
