I was up at Island Park Reservoir near Lakeside lodge on a family get together and was able to sneak away during the early morning and in the late afternoon to do some ice fishing. I fished Saturday and Sunday morning around 7:00-9:00 and afternoon about 3:30-5:00. As I expected, the fishing wasn't real fast and furious but right at sunrise and sunset the fish went into a feeding frenzy. Each time I fished I caught 4 or 5 fish in a 15 minute time period and picked up a few stragglers during the remaining time. I was pleasantly surprised by few of the fish, one I measured at 24 inches and another at 22 inches (both Rainbows). I also had another larger fish break the line but no way of knowing exactly how large it was. I was also pleased with the variety of fish I caught: rainbows, one brookie, and a nice 18 inch hybrid. No Kokanee though. [unsure] It was a good way to spend a few hours each day.
