No scoops but if you keep your eyes open you can pick up some great deals on closeout specials. I picked up my first tube for $32 with tax. Regular $90. They changed the apron on them so they were moving the old ones out fast.

I tend to agree with tlspyder. There are some year end deals to watch for.

As we gent into the newer age, the Tube tends to get bigger on one end and lighter on the other.

Obviously, bigger means more room, more comfort, bigger pockets and heavier materials.

The lighter ones are meant more for the person that may consider walking a distance from vehickle to the watershed. That sometimes means hiking a great distance to get to that pristine lake or oversized pond that you wish to endeveour.

Once you see something out there you like and the reviews are in your favor, give it a little time and the price will come down just a bit in many cases.

How is the accessiblity to the waters edge where you plan to do your tubing?? Will you be required to walk a few feet, a few yards or a couple hundred yards?

There are backpack straps to easy the journey and make your adventure a little more enjoyable.

From past information supplied here, I do understand that the Tubes are a little more costly in your area than compared to the US.

I'm sure you want to make every dollar count towards your enjoyment and new anhancement of your favorite sport.

[cool][#0000ff]Float tubes are not like cars...they do not come out with all new models every year. Once they find a good one, that works well and is well received by the tubing public, it becomes a "standard" and does not change much over the years. I just did a quick review on the websites for most of the major tube manufacturers and there does not seem to be much going on with new models.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Generally, when anything new does hit the market, one of our members spots it and posts up a link and some pictures. Then someone else will buy it and provide a review. If it seems to be a good deal, others will jump on it and we have several reviews. Some models, like the Day Tripper, get unfavorable reviews and not many BFT members own or use them.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We are not the biggest website on the Internet, but we do have some serious members who cruise the web and pick up on the new stuff pretty fast. You can be sure you will get the news on the latest models fairly quickly.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]In addition to watching for end-of-year discounts and closeouts, you can also watch for the big sports shows that usually hit the major cities in the early part of the year. That is not only a good place to find new models being introduced, but also to get some good deals on "show specials". It also gives you a chance to see the craft up close, to check out the size of the pockets, the seats, number of D rings, etc.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Here is a series of pics I shot just after I got my H3, showing some of the comparisons to the SFC.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Yes, the elongated front air chambers definitely increase stability. They are what make it possible to use the H3 in some pretty rough water safely. No other float tube can handle some of the moving water situations. But, you need to be sure that it is legal on the waters you float. Some waters have restrictions...such as a minimum of 9 foot pontoons, etc.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I tried rocking back and forth in the H3 and I could not get much rock either direction.[/#0000ff]

No offense, bendo, but that outfit of your's has no personality whatsoever. They still making them?
Edit: I kind of got the evil eye from FG on my post.
Let me clarify myself. I understood they quit making them a few years back. Guess productions is up and running again.
What I meant by no personality is it's completly bare, barren, no extra do-dads, just a plain green hard plastic kickboat.[angelic]
