Anyone ever been up to High Creek Lake, the one past Richmond. I was thinking about hiking up there this Saturday. I heard there was good fishing up there. I've never been so any insights are much appreciated

I was up there several years ago. It is quite a hike and once was enough for me. I woud be surprise if there was fish one in that little mud puddle of a pond. Things may have changed thru the years but I'd be skeptical.
I would guess the shorter hike to White Pine Lake from Tony's Grove would prove more successful for small mountain trout. I do know that the creek below it is chucked full of the little buggers. I do know that White Pine is much more scenic than High Creek with the mountain cliffs surrounding a third of the lake and the big pines. A very nice closer alpine lake indeed and only 3 1/2 miles from Tony's! Heck, hit Tony's too for an albino!
