Nebo Creek/First ever fish on fly rod
#1
Went fly fishing for the first time today. A friend took me, and we hit Nebo Creek at 7:30am. Water was clear and COLD. I caught 3 browns (7-10 inches), one on a royal wulf and two on a bead head prince nymph. He caught seven on nymphs. All were released. By 9:30 the water was all muddy, so few bites. Headed back at 11.

More fun than I ever imagined. I'll be heading out at least twice a week with a fly rod. I think I'm converted. [Smile]

Thats the way to get hooked on flys. Bummer the water changed color on you.

You can't go back now; you've gone and done it! Love those Prince Nymphs. That is one of my favorite go to flies. Congrats.

I don't think my wife is too happy now. Saturday I dragged her to Hobble Creek with me for an hour (one bite, nothing hooked), and tonight I dropped $20 on flies at Sportsman's. Gonna do an overnighter with my same buddy on Thursday night. [Smile]

It sounds like you live in my part of the state. If you'd like to get out some time, shoot me a PM. I'm no expert, despite what my username might indicate, but I have learned a few things along the way.
