Hello all! This is my first post although i have been surfing the boards for a few weeks now trying to find all my questions and getting them answered. What a great crowd of folks! Today was my first trip out in my Caddis High Sierra i got off of ebay this week. Wow what great fun tubin is! I didnt catch anything because it was mid-day about 88 degrees with little to no clouds. But it did give me a great chance to work on my fin skills. I havent made any upgrades yet i have to wait till the end of the week to get some PVC and start going at it. One thing i would like to know is if there is any way to make some shoulder straps to help tote this thing around? Safe fishing all!

[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard. You live in a state with a lot of good tubing potential. I was back there last fall to marry off a daughter in the Chattanooga area. Flew into Nashville and drove the countryside down and back. My rod arm was twitchin' all the time.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You can add pack straps, but with a round tube it is also easy to just balance it on your head for short trips. Leaves your hands free to carry tackle, fins, etc. Here's a pic of me carrying an old Caddis up from the beach at the Sea of Cortez.[/#0000ff]

MacLarry and MrsMclarry (my daughter and her hubby) ..live ten minutes or so away from where the bonaroo is held.. :-).. was just curious if you were close to the area..

New Update, i just got done with some upgrading i havent tried it out yet i will be heading out in the morning for some sunrise floating. I added a dual rod holder, an extra storage pocket to the front(not quite sure if its high enough to stay out of the water but will see). I added a ridgid apron, and a front rod holder as well. Sonar and camera holder in the plans down the road as well. Just have to work the money up [laugh] Thanks for the balancing act on the head trick TD been working on it around the house and it works great!

[#0000ff]I have trudged many a mile with inflated float tubes balanced on my head, with fins, rods, fish and other stuff in my freed up hands. But, the float tubes are lighter and easier to carry that way than the V tubes or U tubes. For those, I use either the pack straps or a "tump line" strap across my forehead.[/#0000ff]
