In an effort to help each other get on the fish, we will be adding a series of posts entitled by the type of fishing we are targeting and would like all users who wish to include their "favorite way to catch these fish", "favorite spots" (doesn't have to be exact), "favorite guides for these fish", "tackle tips", "recommended tackle", "beginner tips", "boating techniques" or any other information you feel would be helpful to other anglers targeting this type of fish.

The Sierras are top flyfishing for those guys. Bigger ones are found in Wyoming's Windy Mountain range.

sorry lue these are not hybreds these are real native trout from the rockies to the california coast.
if memory serves me, those that are not land locked live in the rivers for the first couple years as fry then swim out in to the ocean and return for breading like salmon.
I will have to check my facts to be sure on this to be sure, unless some one in the sunshing state has the stats redily available.
there was some mention on this particular species on the concervation board several months ago, I will see if I can find it for you and provide you with a link.
