Cold Creek Pond Fishing Report - Dont Bother !

Listed on the nv dept of wildlife fishing site is "cold creek pond", they mentioned it was just stocked 2 weeks ago, so i headed up there, never been there before .

its a quick drive from vegas, near the cold creek community . .





theres no signs anywhere so after hitting a dead end i flagged down a guy, he said he was going there so follow him . . when i saw it my heart sank . .they gotta lotta nerve even calling it a pond . . even the cheapest hotel in vegas has a pool larger than this dink-hole . .



thats pretty much the whole damn thing! 2 kids about 3 yrs old were screaming in glee upon catching a 5 incher . . .but dont bother going up there . .

I have seen bath tubs larger. Did you check out the lower lake that is there? Not much better. I have seen several Survivalist stealing all the fish and taking them up to old Camp Bonanza site.

no i must have missed that turn off, nothing was marked . . not worth the trip! that was a bummer day!@ i e-mailed the nev dept of wildlife people - and they removed it from their website the next day!

Hey Southernman, Check out the map of the area. 2 ponds and a lake. Mayby you went to the wrong place?

[size 3]Ok I just confirmed what I said yesterday. There are 2 ponds and a lake at cold creek. The lake is down farther from the ponds. You have to drive between the ponds to get there. The locals don't let you know about it. This is were the fish are supposed to be. A local resident told me that the locals go out fishing and catch most of them so the general public don't get to catch many. So if you want to go fishing there forget it. It is not worth the time.
