The Kokanee fishing was hot today. I fished with my boys from 2:30 until 5:00 the three of us limited out using pink swedish pimples with pink rat finkie droppers. The fish were suspended 15-20 ft under the ice. It is no secret where the fish are just look for the massive amounts of holes out from the island and boat ramp.
Usually I am stubborn and want to get away from the crowd. Today I decided to swallow my pride and set up near everyone else. It did pay off just this one time.[angelic]
The highlight of the day was when two bald eagles came in and stole fish off of the ice. They were close, very close. Of course this is the only day this winter that I have not had my camera with me.[mad]

You're real "hard core" to fish on a cold day like today. Maybe I'm just gettin' old.[frown] Any size to the kokes? I wasn't ice fishing, but a few years ago, I'd just released a small trout I'd caught trolling on Ririe, and a golden eagle swooped down and picked it up within ten feet of the back of the boat. Wished I'd had a movie camera.

There are two different sizes of Kokanee the small ones are 7-9" and bigger ones are 12-16." It seems like the bigger ones are on the bottom of the school. We released the smaller ones and kept the bigger ones.

Hey guys,
What's the ice thickness up in Ririe? I assume it's plenty, but I drove up a couple weeks ago and it looked scary.
Still haven't dipped a hook this year, but going to try next week!

It's pretty goo, especially closer to the dam. I would still be careful around the island and then on the other side up reservoir and around where the ice has buckled. It was the last to freeze.
