Biofisher and I made a good day of crappie fishing beginning around 8:00 and finishing up at 4:00 pm. We had a wonderful day, all the while dodging the rain showers that were supposed to be here at 12:00 noon today. (Lying weatherman) emoBig

We caught 36 crappie (24 keepers), 1 yellow perch, 1 gizzard shad, 3 or 4 bluegills, 1 shellcracker, and 1 13" lm bass. I did hang what we think was a big smallmouth who headed for deeper water pulling drag off my little ultralight reel and pulled off after about 20 or 30 seconds. Gary was reaching for the net when it pulled off and we never did get to see the fish. emoBang

We caught the majority of our fish shallow and on panfish assassins, bg shads, ringer stingers and crappie stingers. We found water temps in the high 50's early and warming to 62 degrees around 4:00. We did notice that the wind shifted to the NW and was noticeably cooler. It cooled the surface temp off 1/2 degree in about 2 minutes. Boat motor still has it ghostly problem. Pull the cowling off, let the engine cool and it runs like a top. I'm gonna keep it until it croaks. Maybe they can find it when it finally quits running. All you guys have your cellphones on standby in case you have to come pull me back to the dock. emoBig
