Started out a good morning at Riverpark. Loaded up and went across the river to far bank and hit a creek opening and first cast, a small spot. My son answered with a small one too. Drifted on down and he yelled Dad, I got a big one! I looked back and proceeded to tell him, your hung up that can't be a fish, his reply was well if I'm hung up then why is it moving up the river. I jumped into gear then and got back to him in time to see a large fish come up to surface near the back of the boat. It went straight under the boat and we didn't correct it in time. Needless to say, we got it up again it was foul hooked in belly and I believe it looked to be a sturgeon. I have not seen one, except in aquarium and by the looks of its tail and back this is what it looked like? Has anyone ever caught one below Chick dam or are they even down there? If it wasn't then we have no idea what it was, only it was very long and probaly weighed 15 to 20 lbs. After that we went down to golf course and thing turned sour for us. My son threw his crank bait to the wind and it sailed up on rip-rap. He didn't want to lose it so he went after it. He walked right up to the lure and proceeded to fall over on the rocks! He caught his ankle on a boulder and it snapped. I got him loaded in boat and headed back to boat dock. I asked a man loading his boat for some help loading my boat and he helped us out and we got out quickly to Erlanger ER. He is in a cast now and in quite a bit of pain but he is tough! Again if the man at the Riverpark is on this site I thankyou again for helping me out this morning.
