Interest in an Idaho BFT trip/outting?
#1
Since it was brought up in another thread by Chromejunky and then seconded (by several) and then suggested to start a seperate thread on it, I'm taking the initiative to start the inquiry portion of it. That being said....

Who would be interested in an Idaho BFT get together? Either an outting somewhere for a day, or better yet, a weekend where we get a bunch of people to set up in a campground, or area close together and go fishing! Bring the families, boats, fish stories, and bait. If there is serious interest perhaps some people would suggest a location or two and some dates.

This could be truly fun[fishin][cool]

i like this idea. I think if there is any good ice still around it would be the best. Sense Ice fishing is mostly about drinking beer and bull... well you get the idea. A weekend would be great but the only problem is finding a place were we arnt going to be fishing ontop of one another.

just thinking palaSades would be a great place. Its fairly close to most the areas. And offers something for everyone. You can fly fish, bait fish, drift on the south fork. And can Boat, Troll and even bobber fish the res. And my favorite is fishing the tributaries. There is plenty of camping, even free areas.

We might try for a one day meeting the first time and try a campout another time.

I think Chesterfield would be awesome. People could float tube, boat, or fish from the bank. It works for fly fishing, lures, or bait.

The Preston area would also be good. People could hit several different Reservoirs and then compare notes.

SWEET! Actually I like the Chesterfield idea. That is the only one I have done near Preston. I think we did 24 mile once also. Camping would be good for people that do have to make a little drive.

Hmmm. Maybe we should have two separate outings. One for the SE crowd and one for the SW crowd. Thoughts?

well everybody is gonna want to go to their favorite body of water or the closest to them. your not gonna get every angler to agree so i think there needs to be a unanimous voting. list a bunch of water in idaho and the one with the most votes wins.

Sound like fun. I would be able to do one in the SW Idaho area or an "in-between" place. I'll bring the potato salad![Smile]

Why not just make a bulletin Board. People can post their plans (if they want company) Day or Days, where, when. Then people can jump in if they can make it and then plan a menu.
Shouldn't be real hard. But right now you got Boise people, then you have Idaho Falls people...quite a distance and could require over nighters.
So basically, throw out the get together and see who shows up.
