Lake Mead Shore Fishing
#1
I was planning getting up very early one morning and doing some fishing off the shore at Lake Mead. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that is easily accessible where you could catch some fish. I've seen people talking about Boxcar Canyon and Crawdad Canyon. Are those good places? I'll be driving in from the southeast side of Las Vegas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! There's a lot of shore fishing at Boulder Harbor, there's even a fishing pier there. It's not far from the Lake Mead info center. I don't know much about the places you spoke of, but I do know that lots of the places we used to fish at, from shore, aren't easy to get to anymore because of the dropping lake level. We've seen a lot fishing from BH, and have seen plenty of fish caught from shore there. Hope this helps.

Hope you have a lot of luck!
We're heading out to Willow Beach tomorrow, should be a nice day, I hope! Lots of fishing from shore there also - and they have a huge fishing pier, a lot larger than the one at BH. It's farther than going to Lake Mead, but only about 15 miles or so farther. You should try it out sometime, I think you would also like it. Lots of maps on how to get there online. Before we got our boat, we fished from shore there and caught some nice fish. Again, have a great day!

I've had success at times using live shad netted from shore. Anyone know if they are still swimming around near shore? Or what's a good bait besides shad and cut anchovies? Lures for shore suggestions? Thanks and good luck to all.
