Snake River 4-3-09 :)
#1
Got to the Snake around the Menan area around 7:00 PM. Water was pretty nasty looking and full of floating logs and other junk but I decided I would go for it anyways. First cast in I got a really hard hit that snapped me off right away. I decided to walk back to the truck, change to a 1x leader and tie on the biggest fly I could find in my streamer box. Whenever water is high and off colored I have found that this tactic works pretty well. I tied up and returned to the same spot again to try to catch the big guy that snapped me off. First cast in I had a nice hit and kept the fish on this time. I don't think it was the same brown though. My old fly wasn't in his mouth. Either way it was a nice fish and a lot of fun to catch Smile

Nice fish. You did better than I did. I tried for a few hours today below Gem Lake dam and again behind Firth HS. No luck today. I did not try any streamers or WB's today. I was playing with the BH copper johns and Hares Ear. I also drowned a few worms on the second pole, but nothing happened. I do think I fished all 4 seasons today. I will try again tomorrow. I did notice the river is up a bit and there was quite a bit of moss floating around at Firth and the water is more green. Looks like it may not be clear again until fall.

Haha ya I've got a job. I work from about 6:40AM til 5-6 depending on the days. Then I usually will head straight to the river from work. Not married or anything so fishing and work is pretty much my life Smile I don't fish everyday, but do get out quite a bit. There is just so much great water to fish in this area. I really enjoy living over here.
