I've heard of people catching them at swan, but I'm with you, seems like they are pretty sparce down there. CJ on the other hand has plenty of fish. Haven't been out this year, but am planning on it pretty soon.

i just caught seven sturgeon at cj, its still really cold but they are bighting. and theres plenty of sturgeon below swan falls too- just got to hit it when the river is low or go further down river in a boat and look for deep holes when it is high.

Thanks for the report. Seven sturgeon on any given day is stellar. I've got to get down there soon. Seems like this time of year is a little on the cold side, but well worth the sacrifice for a sturgeon. Keep in touch and hopefully we'll be able to hook up some day.

This seems to happen more and more. I know a ton of ppl who had there gear, beer, and fish stolen out of there trucks below challis last year. I had another friend that went up the clearwater and had 12 fish in a cooler between 3 of them and it was stolen on there way home. It just piss's me off the nerve of some ppl.

Boy I tell ya that chaps my hide! I took my dad up to Grangeville last year deer huning. After all day packing his deer out cause he can't due to his health issue (Diabetic) We got back to my camper and he wanted to go get cleaned up and he went to gas up the generator and the 5 gallons of gas where stolen. Luckly I had everything else chained up. Boy what is with people! I would like to find someone who steals other peoples stuff I would (Never mind that I will keep it clean) I am sorry it just gets under my skin to have someone ruin a trip. I think we should all watch out for each other. I would have helped someone out in need if they needed it but who can ya trust these days. Sorry I am just ranting now. Hope we can catch some of these low lifes. Be safe have a good one all...

speaking about stolen gear. i just got my sturgeon rod and reel stolen at cj strike(and it wasn't a cheap rod/reel combo either). i can't believe that someone could stoop so low as to steal a fishing rod! someone like that should be shot! ok mabe not, but it gets me ticked off!

i'm sorry to hear that. be sure to call the authorities both the police and the local fish and game. You never know if they will find a guy carrying a couple extra poles. or if someone else saw something. But yes if not shot atleaste the *&%# beat out of them!!!

[indent]well, swan falls is really high right now so its tough. cj strike had the spill way open and the turbines going, and has been pretty good if you can get the right holes. they should be closeing the spill way soon but the bight should still be good. i am going on the resevoir this upcoming week end most likely. last week end there were people along every inch of the bank below the dam-too crowded for me!
