So I just had to get to the lake sometime this past weekend, but the rain was not looking too good. Well on top of that my trolling motor has been broken for over a week know, and I needed to get it fixed so I could steer correctly. Well I finished the motor around 1:30 Saturday, and I had to be back home at 5, but I went anyways. Met Adam and got to the water around 2:30. We hit Main lake docks with only one fish, 13.75" nice crappie. Ended up finding the fish in about 4 ft of water 200 yards from where we put the boat in. Caught 5 keepers there in about 20 minutes. Adam only caught the one, the biggest on the main lake dock, and on his first cast. So I told him he had the curse, well he did, he just could not get another bite. Two nice ones in the photos below, one was very black. Also for all you yellow sunglasses fan, sorry, got some new ones. Left the lake around 4:15. Water temp was 69ish. Went again Sunday after putting my other hunk of a trolling motor on the boat, forgot to mention the one I fixed broke on the water Sat., had to troll with an oar. Sunday we fished the same spots I did Sat. but only caught two small crappie, and about 8 bluegill or shellcrackers, not sure the difference. Just could not find the crappie Sun. The OTHER pan fish were caught about 6 count down, on the bluffs. They were tiny, but would hit it every cast, if you were quick enough you could set the hook and get one. Kinda fun for about 10 minutes, then you just gotta go in search of something with a little more pull. Water temp on Sun was about 68ish, and seemed to be up several inches from the day before. Fished from about 10 till 12:30. Still good to get out there.
