Decided to pick up boys from school and try our luck. Even though the wind was howling! Just could not resist the bright sunny day. emoCool Left Jack's with some shiners about 5:15 and hit the water around 5:30pm. Fished the rip rap along the dam. Caught a few there. Four species - Drum (hit a bucktail); Channel Cat (shiner) and a small flathead (shiner). Had a few more strikes and missed. Really hard holding the boat. We were going through the trolling motor juice like sweet tea at Lillie Mae's! Anyway we decided to go to gold point and fished the back of the marina. Had pretty good luck with bream, bluegill and a couple of shellcrackers using jigs. Hooked up another nice catfish and a smallie that would go maybe a pound and half. The smallie hit a red and white bobber and then as my older son reeled it in it came back and nailed the jig. That was fun to see. emoUpSmile Messed up his picture - thought I saved it emoConfused Guess I need my reading glasses emoGeezer Anyhow I did capture the flathead. Man those things fight!
