This was my first tx with CFF and actually first tx ever. What I found interesting about tx fishing was the anxiety; Not on every bite but on every cast. Some say it takes the fun out of fishing and personally I couldnt disagree more. It was intense and also tiring.
Started off in the shallows. I was throwing plastic and David was spinning it. He caught two with in 5 minutes but no keepers. Then they really started hitting the plastics. There was a lot activity with the fish on top and chasing bait fish. So we alternated with spinnerbaits and plastic.

All fun and games til I decided to move us to another spot. Went to crank the engine and it didnt want to catch. It turned over fine but no fire. I tried and tried. The process of elimination ruled out plugs, battery, among other things but no fire. I soon realized it had to be flooded at least I was hoping. Every so often I would get down and try again...same. Started to worry after about an hour. I was thinking, "Trolling back is going to be a bad day". So I got back down and didnt pump the gas but once...and life was almost there. I tried about 3 more times and told David I want to make sure there was a least some gas there to fire so he just pumped once. It fired up and I was happy again. After that...no problems what so ever. Luckily I gave it time to let the carburetors drain, dont know what caused it but may need to have it looked at.

Any way it ended up being a great day of fishing. We couldnt find the big ones and ended up with 6.46....certainly not what we hoped for but we learned a lot, got to meet many of you, and had fun. Take care.

Matt Locklear
