BassERT, Nick, crappie etc..., 5-21-09, Yellburt
#1
Got a call last night and YB needed to stretch a line and wanted me to go along as a witness.
Gladly we got out of Shellmound around 6:30 AM after I fished by the ramp and caught 3 spots on an ancient brown wiggle wart while waiting.
Just had a good feeling about the day and it didn't let me down. As soon as we settled in on hole number 1 the fish were biting. emoAngler
Striped or white bass were getting in the way and had some topwater action with and almost 15" LM.
But when the crappie GENTLY bit, they went pretty big in size. Of course we had many thowbacks, but my count went about 25 with about the same for YB. There had to be 20 fish for the livewell which included spots and big rockbass.
Two of those rockies were deformed like they had swallowed golfballs. The couple of them that were wide-shouldered went in the box for dinner

All in all it was slowish, but we caught enough to pronounce the day a successful trip.
Thanks again Tommy for a fun trip to a pretty spot.!

BTW there is a pic of my partner doing the "Iaconelli dip" on a little spot.
Did I say we had fun? Well we did!!
Enjoy! emoThumbsup
