My tournaments are turning into a one liner, &quot;The big one that got away!&quot; emoAngry Last week Fishinjunky lost the one that would have got us a check and tonight it was my turn at the ratman. The first stop we made I have five fish in the boat on cranks, two keepers, with one almost three and the other a solid two. Antman hung up and we were trolling over to get his bait and I hit something that at first I thought I was hung. emoScratch Then it started moving and I bared down on it. I yelled at Antman, I got a big one! Get the net! It came hauling straight up out of the water full speed and it was a hoss. I would guess a solid fiver. emoEek We both said something about the size and it shook back and forth and blink! Out comes the crank,,,,,, emoMad Just came unbuttoned. That one fish with the other two would have got us big bass and first place. emoDoh That was within the first fifteen minutes of the tournament. It took us the rest of the night to catch another keeper. I finally managed one more keeper off a spook right at dark. Our three went just 6.68 lbs but it was a tough night for everyone. We came in fifth but they only paid four places with about thirty boats in it. emoDoh So my old place of first out of the money came back this evening.<br /><br />It was still a good night. Water temp was 71 on the lake and 75 in the wolf. We caught fish tonight on spooks, cranks and c-rigs. We caught several nice bass today but the best ones we boated were before the tournament started while we were scouting....GO FIGURE! emoDoh <br /><br />Looking forward to doing it agian in the morning.
