So, I took my wife out for a couple of hours late this afternoon for some bream fishing. Honestly, when I go bream fishing during the spawning season, I expect to catch all I want to clean and then some. Didn't happen today. We fished 4 of my favorite sloughs between Possum Creek and Sale Creek and only caught about 2 dozen. They were all bluegills except for 2 shellcrackers and 1 tiny long eared sunfish. Only 6 were what I would consider keepers. We caught mostly small silver bluegill females and that has always meant to me that I was fishing in the wrong place or all the bigger ones had been caught out.

We also caught 4 channel cats in the 3 lb. range, 2 of which jumped like bass when hooked. We also caught a couple of small largemouths. All fish were released.

This was the first time this year that my wife and I fished together and it was a fun time bringing back lots of graet memories from fishing trips past.
