Hi Fishslayer,

Man, the Missionbelle has been tearing up the counts as shown by todays count on the fish. They had top honors out of 15 boats! If you had been on today's boat!!!!!!

A lot of SD boats are going albie hunting so I don't see too many boats going to fish the yellows and barracuda as you would think.

I'll write a letter to whoever explaining you're in desperate need of being near saltwater is that'll help!

Up North- Channel Islands
Good Calico and Sand bass fishing for the landing that sent a boat out.. Channel Island Sportfishing as usual!

What boats caught fish?

Some boats got both WSB and YT's

Further South- San Clemente
No News- Not even from the Oceanside 95!!

San Diego- Coranados
The Calico and Sandbass counts were pretty good. I didn't see that too many boats were out at the island. Lots of boats reporting albies so they must be on the grounds.

Local LA
The Calico/Sandbass and Barracuda remains about the same as yesterday. No particular doing substantially better than another.

Remember: Overnighters are the only way to go if you want WSB!

CATALINA WSB BITE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY DOWN! BARRACUDA BIT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY UP!

Up North- Channel Islands
Nothing even resembling a decent count!

LA Area- Catalina Island
WSB bite is doooooowwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnn!
Toronado, Persuit and Pierpoint did 100+'s on Barries and a few WSB.

Further South- San Clemente
No News

Looking at averages per rod per landing. Each angler got about 3 fish. It's gotta be better next week.

It can't always be great!!!!

Report for June 22, 2003 (Sunday)

Way Up North-Avila
16 anglers 16 salmon at Chris's

Up North- Channel Islands
Bass and Barracuda about 4 fish per rod

LA Area- Catalina Island

Fishing was not that great but the average fish caught was about 5 fish per rod with a mix of bass and barracuda.

Again, today was not the best day and although the calico bite was OK the average fish per rod count was down again.
Looked like 4-5 fish per rod average.

well sometimes its like 5 fish for one person. and no fish for 5 people. so that averages out to about 1 fish per rod. That sucks! haha...

Barracuda are being absolutely slaughtered at the island.
