Pat Ryan and I were trying to be the only idiots on the lake this morning, but we did see a few late in the morning. Did I mention that it rained. We started off above the dam looking for spots. It rained. There was trash everywhere and it rained. We threw several different baits, caught a couple of crappie and then it rained.

When the spots didn't cooperate, we said to heck with this and went to docks to crappie fish. And it rained. But we didn't care. The crappie were biting. I had a rain suit and didn't really get wet. Pat only had a raincoat. No pants. It rained and he got soaked. We each caught a lot of fish on different docks. Then the rains came. One of the highlights of the morning was a turtle that Pat Hooked under one of my favorite docks. I did a great job of netting this beast and the skies opened up and poured.

Finally along toward the end of our fishing adventure, the sun popped out and I was able to take off my rainsuit. Poor Pat. Soaked to the bone like a drowned rat. But he had fun. He kept saying how beautiful the day was. I think that he may need a trip to the Bend for a shock treatment. emoBig

It was another good day with a special friend that I met because of the CFF. Thanks, David Haun. Thanks, Firstlight. Thanks, BBass, BPrice, and others who have helped make this a great place to visit.

We caught our fish on bg shads, panfish assassins, slab slayers, in bluish colors. I custom made some s/p assassins with light blue top/chartreuse tail and bottom. Did it with a Q-tip. This is a great tip for some of you guys. The crappie seemed to really like this combo. Did I mention that it rained on us nearly all morning? emoBig
