I decided to make a trip alone today to see what I could find. I put in at CF at 6:30 to a beautiful morning and it held up all day, emoDance Mostly cloudy all day but not too much wind and comfortable temps throughout the day, emoThumbsup It turned into quite a crappie day, by 7:30 I had caught 17 and 90% of those were very good keepers over 11"'s, emoTongue By 10 AM I had boated 47 with most being keeper sized, emoThumbsup
My Boss (Lov2) called at 10 and said he had a couple free hours and wanted to know if I was havin' any luck, emoTongue When I told him I had already caught 47 he wanted me to come to HBSP and pick him up so he could fish for the 2 hours of free time that he had. We went to a couple nearby docks and caught another 25 and he was happy but had to go back to work, emoAngry I really got to him when I said "I think I'll fish a couple more hours!" emoSmile The days total was 67 crappie, 1 small striper and 1 little 'gill.
Most of the fish were caught in 12-25 FOW on a 6 count during the morning and then later up in the day it went to a 10 count, emoSmile Midnight BG's and white slab slayers were the choice of the day. Water temp was 72* and air temp made it up to 76* Fish caught on docks and deep bluffs.
I fished 'till 2 and headed home to repair a rod tip that I broke on a dock.
All in all it was a really nice day to be off work and on the water but by noon the chiggers and destroyers were rippin' and tearin' up the water, emoAngry
BTW: All todays fish were released to grow bigger, (hopefully to some 16 inchers next year,
)
