slo-ride, Wheeler Dam, mixed, 5/31, RC0808
#1
Took the bro-in-law to Wheeler dam today for a little afternoon fishing. We got on the water at 1:00 and left at 5:00...fellas, IT was HOT out there today. TVA had my fave generators running and the flow was pretty much just right. The fish weren't biting like mad, but it was steady action. There are some good white bass being caught and some smallies and largemouth are still hanging around....the skippies were there in numbers. We worked out a good many whites, some slick SM's and a couple of decent ones. Biggest SM was 3.6 and we managed a 3.7 LM...Ronnie kept 27 of the bigger whites for the freezer and everything else was released. All fish were caught in or near the current edge on c-rigged Foley Spoons using a 1/2 or 3/4 oz. egg sinker.
Stripers are still being caught early in the morning on live bait near the boils.
