Well I was just happy to get back out on the water in my boat again. I have not fished the Nick but one time this year and it was not good then and it was not good today either. Josh ans I ran down river to bust a limit in Mullin's Cove first thing. We started throwing Carolina rigged finesse worms and flukes in the grass with our first keeper coming on the second cast. We caught about 10 fish in a 100 yard stretch of bank, but I could have kept them in my aquarium. Josh had been having good success here in the last couple of weeks, but I felt we needed to move to another place where we caught some quality fish last year so we left an ran a little farther up river. Next stop, swing and a miss. Ran down and fished around Cat Fish house and caught three more fish on weightless sinkos that should have measured. They were right at the line on the ruler, but I did not want to get embarrased at the weigh-in. Next, ran back up river to fish a deep rip-rap bank that produced only one fish on texas rigged 10 in worm. And finally, ran to Bennet's Lake to try and catch a to water fish or two before weigh in. I enjoyed the day it was Josh's first tournament and he loved it. Sorry, no pictures too busy trying to scratch together a limit. Next time I will bring my fish stretchers. I look forward to seeing you all next time!
