While heading toward the lake at 6:30 AM and seeing the cows and horses laying down, not standing up grazing, I told Martie and Jay, "This is going to be a slow morning." And it was, <br />But we soldiered on, emoParty Martie's day got off to a bad start when her "Dale Earnhardt Jr." cap blew off and we had to go back and get a wet cap, emoRedface (Glad it was mostly cloudy all day!)<br />1st stop was a dock that had produced both crappie and bream but today the dogs were on the dock and Jake had to challenge them and ended up slipping off the edge of the boat and going for a swim, emoAngry Ever drug a long haired 35 lb dog straight up the side of the boat by the hair, he wasn't happy and neither was I, emoRedface <br />1 crappie and a couple blue gill and lots of dog barking so moved on to the next dock where Friday there was a giant fly hatch going on. Most were gone and so were the feeding fish, only a few small 'gills left around so we went on to a cove where the boat traffic wasn't so bad and the waves were smaller, emoSmile We caught several 'gills but no bulls and I caught this slick sliver thing, I think they call 'em skip jack, on a cricket, emoScratch Martie hooked into a 2 lb channel cat and had a ball bringing him in with her super light bream rod that's 9 ft. long and 4 lb line, emoTongue <br />We had fun but no big fish, emoRolleyes Wish the bigger fish had been biting so Jay, (Grandson) would have had better stories to tell his brothers when he gets home but that's fishing, emoFish emoCool Water temp was around 80* in most places today and we used crickets on all but the two crappie which were caught on ringer stingers. All fish were returned to the water to get bigger, emoFish<br /><br />Oh yeah, almost forgot about the goat, emoBig Jake had a goat come out on the dock to visit him, he didn't know what to think of a goat, emoScratch Cows and horses he barks at, being a herding dog and all, but a goat emoQuestion I think he thinks it's some kind'a dog 'cause he looks and looks and you can see the expression on his face that he's about a goat especially one that walks up to within 10 feet of him on a dock, emoBig We all got a big laugh out of that.
