Me and Josh did the Grants/Toyota tourney out of Chester Frost Park this morning... Went up river and fished deep all day.... I got the first keeper pretty early and it was a good solid 4+ on a c-rig.... We caught few dinks then I got the next keeper in the boat and it was only 16 and half inches so couple of pounds at best I think... Josh got a smallmouth that barely measured so that was our third keeper and it was only around 8am and he would surely go 3lbs..... Caught few more dinks and decided to run up river a ways... Got on some more ledges and ditches with same scenario shallow into deep water... After awhile Josh got another keeper in the boat and this one being another nice 4+... Bites all around but hardly any takers just alot of short strikes.... Went back down river to our first spot again and decided to stay there till time to go.... Caught more fish and we got our 5th keeper and filled our limit out.... I then started throwing swimbaits and huge jigs hoping for a nice kicker to cull another one with... Well that never happened but we got one more and was able to cull our smallest fish.... We thought we did good and had a nice limit and was hoping to do little better this time but we got 6th out of all the boats which is still great far as I'm concerned... We ended up with 15+ for our limit... I think winning bag was 18+....Another fall like day with great clouds for fishing... Hope to do this again next month......
