I picked up drumking at a bit after 6am but the topwater bite didn't really start until around 7am. DK used a couple of different baits but I stayed with my Rattlin' Chug Bug. For a while the fish that did surface were a bit picky but got less so as time went on it seemed. The fish seem to be catching on a bit as they often surfaced just out of casting range and went under just as we got close enough to reach them. We ended up with 18 LM bass and one yellow bass. All were caught on topwater baits. Lots of hits without hooking up and we had five that we hooked that ended up as long line releases. We were tempted to go crappie fish for a while but the bass came back up again and we fished until around 9:30 or so. All the fish came between about 7 and 8:25am. The bite started later than usual and ended a bit later than usual. When we left Biofisher had come back to fish the area again as he was there with us earlier but had to leave for a time to meet someone at the house.

On the way home I stopped by one of my mid summer crappie holes back in WT and caught one 10.5 incher at about a 15 count. Only fished there for a few minutes but would expect that there are a bunch there as there have been in the last few years during the summer.

Thanks for getting out there with me DK, always lots of fun.
