drumking, chickamauga, Crappie and bass, 7/30/09, John Faulkner
#1
John Faulkner and I finally got together for a crappie trip after about one year of trying. It was raining on us early. We got wet, but who cares? emoBigSmile I just thought that I had my trolling motor fixed. It started blowing fuses, so we were limited again to tying off and fishing for crappie. We didn't catch many numbers, but we had some quality fish. John caught one TARP 14.0 inches and several more good fish. We also caught 2 spots, 3 largemouth and 2 small yellow bass. All our fish were caught on slab slayers I think and 1/16 oz jigs. The fish liked the white/chartreuse SS today. The fish were deep and not very active at all. Several of our fish came as we were just dead baiting the lure directly under the boat about 15-20 feet deep.

John, I had a great time although we had motor trouble and the fish didn't seem to want to play much, but there will be better days. I took home 1 spotted bass and about 6 nice slabs for the freezer. Now it is nap time. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
