Got out of work at 5 today so Alvin and I decided to hit the Chick for a few hours. We put in around 7 and fished one spot all evening, a long underwater point/hump that is 15 feet on top that drops to 25 or so on all sides. Took us a while but we found a school of fish on the side of the point. Ended up boated 11 largemouth, Alvin broke two more off at the boat, 3 yellow stripe, a small channel cat and a small blue cat. Fish were caught on drop shots using tubes and powerminnows. I did catch two bass on spook out of some schoolers that would come up every now and then. We had a couple of small keepers and one of the fish that Alvin broke off at the boat would have went 2.5-3 lbs.
Around 8:30 it got really dark with what looked like a storm heading our way. We got back to HBSP and the wind went from dead calm to 15 mph in a matter of seconds. We loaded up and headed home. It is 9:22 now and still not a drop of rain but boy the wind was wild.
Good impromptu evening on the water and not bad on the catching for only 1.5 hours.
