csting on dirt

Hi there!
I just bought a casting net, and I was thinking about practicing on dry land over dirt. My questiom is
will the casting net get damaged if thrown on dry dirt? thank you for your respond

No, you're fine casting on dirt. I wouldn't cast into bushes or onto snags that could rip the net though.

Something that I use to do is practice from an elevated position. I usually toss a net from the bow of a boat, so I'd stand on the porch or something equilivent or close to the stance of a boat and practice from there. How you throw the net might be altered depending on where you're throwing from. It's always good to "practice how you play."

If you're going to be wading out into the surf and casting in waist deep water, practice throwing the net with your arms raised to compensate. Obviously, the best way to practice is to actually go into the environment you'll be using it and do it from there.
