No HOF fish for this fella today! September is always a slow month for me with the big blues, and this one started right on cue. The blues that I found were NOT oriented to bottom structure, but were suspended at 32-40 feet in 55 feet of water. There were a few 10 pounders in the mix, but most fish were about 6 to 8 pounds today. Everyone fishing the bottom there seemed to be catching fish under a pound, and the only hits I had on the bottom were tiny pecks. Anyway, the cooler weather is making it pretty nice out there.

It was great to get out after the knee surgery and vacation on the Outer Banks, but now I'm scheduled for the next surgery on September 17 - and yes, the rumor is true, it IS to repair my hernia! Seems there are certain hazards associated with catching and lifting really big catfish emoEek emoEek . (Ow! OW!!!) Guess I'll have to take a designated lifter with me for a while afterwards. emoBig
