I hope you made sure that your net was no more than 3 feet in radius. I checked the one at Bass Pro Shops and it is 3 feet and 3/8 inch in radius. Its a $100 dollar fine if caught. The regulations don't restrict the sale of bigger nets, just the use of them.

He was throwing from shore, and the net I bought was the 3"foot radius 6"foot total when open. The guy at Bass Pro filled me in about the nets when I asked for one. He knows I only fish the lake and river, and the lake mead cast nets are separate from the others. I did go down there to buy a bigger net, but he set me straight. Its cool thought cause the smaller net was half the price.
I brought the net out yesterday but couldn't net anything. I can see the shad from shore and the docks. A couple of my throws where right on also, but I didn't net one. I brought cut bait though so I still did some fishing. Caught one catfish and missed a big bight, but still lots of little stripers running around.
Not sure what is is about fishing, but I can fish from 12am-12pm no problem, I pretty much come home when I run out of bait and water. Think I might even head out again tonight. Ill keep you guys updated, hopefully the big stripers start biting in Boulder harbor. If they do I will let you know.

The 3/8" refers to the mesh size.

I hit Boulder Harbor again today 9-19-09. Started at about 3am, and fished from the fishing dock out there. I caught a few smaller catfish and one worth keeping, so I gave it to one of the guys out there. When the Sun came up, the smaller stripers started biting like crazy, like always.
I started throwing the cast next when the sun came up. There is tons of smaller shad, I mean really small, they slip right threw the net. Every once in a while I snagged some of the smaller ones that didn't squeeze threw, and a couple times a decent sized one. Just like last time these shad did great things for me lol.
The first shad I hooked up, had his head torn off by a nice bite. That got me kind of excited, so I hooked up my other decent sized shad. After about 30 minutes my pole bent big time, I jumped up and set the hook yahooo. I landed the beast hehe..... 19inches......3.5lbs<-------Big_Mouth_Bass!!

I fish Boulder Harbor alot. It's not my favorite spot, but it's one of the closest. Im going to post the fish I catch there in the same post for a bit.
I went to Boulder Harbor again Friday morning, 9/25/09. Seems Like a bigger schools of bigger shad started moveing into the harbor. Fishing was realy slow and there is still no schools of large striper yet, still lots of little ones though. The catfish bite on live shad is pretty slow, but I catch one every time I go. The last two times out I caught a Big Mouth Bass on live shad, and thats allways fun.
I also netted and releases a dieing big mouth bass. Something bit him on the belly lol. He was just sluggishly swimming around the fishing dock. I was out there for more then 12 hours, fishing was pretty slow.
Well here are a few pictures.
Shad, finally showing up in bigger numbers
Big Mouth Bass about 2.5 lbs
Catfish about 3lbs 20"
Baby Big Mouth bitten

9/29/09 Boulder Harbor. I just went ahead and put all my boulder harbor posts for September in this one thread. This will be the last one. I will make a new post for October.
It was like wildfire today and what do you know, my camera was out of batteries. Oh well I busted out the phone camera for one of them. Here he is 26" at least 6lbs. I caught 6 cats and one striper. All the cats where 3+lbs. I had to stop fishing cause I couldnt catch any shad after the wind started.
