Well, I pulled double duty yestd. I fished Chick. from 12:30-4:30. Then I met my son at Riverpark and we fished from 5:30-8;00. The current during all this time was 45K cfs.

I tried Jerry's method (see his recent post) for catching white crappie and was unsuccessful. All I caught that way was a 12 in. largemouth. Then I tried a bluff and a steep rocky shoreline for black crappie and caught right at a limit of keepers. They were still deep (20-25 ft.). Also, a 4 lb. blue cat, a 16.5 in. meanmouth (I think) and a couple of spots and undersize largemouth. I hooked a real good fish (no slime on the line) that came up 3 times like he was going to jump, but didn't. He also made some strong runs, but the little smoke/glitter BG Shad 1/16 oz. jighead finally pulled out. I was using blue/gray panfish assassins also.

Down on the river, we fished rip-rap mostly with smoke/glitter Gitzits with 1/8-3/8 oz. jigheads depending on how strong the current was at the location. We also caught a few on crank baits. We had a good evening catching quite a few smallmouth and spots and a few largemouth. We didn't keep count, but we had a lot of action. The biggest smallie was 3.5 lbs. South Chick. Creek had calmed down quite a bit, but was still muddying up that side of the Tenn. River.

All the fish caught this day were released except for 3 good-size spots.
