Met Gene at CFP and got going about 7:30. Was some fog rolling in, but the wind pushed it out pretty fast. Almost all our fish today were caught on docks. The wind and current were very strong and made some of the bluffs unfishable. Too hard to hold the boat and recognize the bite. We were using BG Shads and PA's and found fish on deep docks, and as shallow as 3-4 '. That was a little surprising. 1/16 jig head to try and get it down in the current and wind. Gene is an experienced fisherman just had not shot docks before. He caught on to the techinque very quickly. All he needs now is some hi-viz line to help him recognize the bite. We caught 29 keeper crappie with several 13"+ and one 14 1/2' tarp that was a really wide and chunky crappie. Also a couple of bass and gills.

The wind and current made for a tough fishing day. Would fish a dock and catch 3 or 4 and then the bite would stop. We stayed with it on 1 dock for about 30 minutes and managed to get them started again ending with 10 fish from that dock. Had to work hard for every fish. All fish returned to the lake for your fishing pleasure.

Enjoyed the day and the company, but very tired from fighting the wind. I think I will take the day off tomorrow.

Regards, Labman
