Norman (Labman) and I had a good time together while we looked for the elusive crappie today. Today was in my opinion, a not so wonderful day. We did our part, but the fish didn't do their part today. We only caught 22 crappie, 2 bass, and 1 bluegill, but one of those crappie was my 21st tarp of the year. Most of the fish came deep and bite was so subtle that there's no telling how many bites that we had that we missed. BG shads and ringer stingers were used today. Our best spot today was one dock. 14 crappie came off that spot. The rest were scattered and came from bridge columns, blowdowns, brushpiles and roadbeds.

It was chilly all day and the wind out of the north at more than the 5mph that was predicted. I know that Norman got tired of battling the wind. (He had to run the trolling motor today and I just had to fish. emoBig
) Water flow was 45,000 cfs, water temp was 54 degrees and the lake level was back up over 679. According to TVA info, they will be opening spillgates again on Thursday. They are taking in more water than they are letting out. This yo yo effect is bothering the fish as well as the fishermen. Last Friday, the level was 676 and today 679. It may be next year before we get stablized water conditions. emoBig
