I have a pond near me that apparently has some nice bass, but there are weeds and pond vegetation EVERYWHERE, from top to bottom of the pond for about 20ft off every shore (I don't have a boat). I tried fishing it today with a spinner, a chatterbait, and a texas rigged worm (weeds on the weight) and pulled in tons of crap every cast. I want to get to the bass but just can't get past all of the junk, it is floating literally at the top everywhere
How can I fish this place? Topwater lures like a frog or something? Thanks for the help

You guessed it. Fish a frog, weightless worm or lizard. Work it over the weeds and let it drop into any holes you find.

I got a scumfrog in yellow and tried using it yesterday at sunset. No hangups, and no dragging in weeds, which was great....however, that only lasted about 15min. For some reason it started dragging in stuff, and I realized that the 2 hooks have come out farther from the body, and it often lands hooks down, so it grabs stuff. I guess I'll have to go buy another unfortunately

On the weedless plastic worm, try puting a big bead where you normally run the worm weight. I get a string of "pearls" from the craft store.
Helps the floating or weightless worm crawl over stuff.

thats even the right colors for mid to late summer bass.
I still wouldnt cast it in to the middle of a 20 foot lillypad bed but I would deffenantly hit the last couple feet.
I am not so woried about it snagging a pads as I would be a big bass grabbing it down below the pads where it can swim circles though the pad stems.
where did you find that one? all I see around my area are the olive greens and navy greys.

I believe it was Bass Pro has this frog. Done well by me. You do need to use braided line to pull fish through the weed.

I am more woried about doing damage to the weed beds, even lilly pads, if you loosen their roots it draws carp in. once they get started they wont stop.
