Went by the mackey res and it looked frozen. I drove down to the boat dock and it looked like 5" to 6" of clear ice. Nobody was out there but a couple of old holes so FYI.

I drilled those holes on 12-4, as you could tell I started pretty close to the bank. There was only 2 inches of ice then but I am sure you are right about the 5-6 inches now. Hopefully it will be a good year for the Kokes!!!!

It should be a good year for kokes, due to its the 1st year in the three year cycle. Also they did plant some fingerlings this year, I don't know why, they usually have a self sustaining population. I will be out there all day on the 21st hoping to get into them. I will watch the Vexilar and my son will watch poles!

fished Mackay 11th & 12th, 12-14" of clear ice. fished for kokes, caught a bunch 10-13" range and a few trout 14-18" . Was cold -11 when we got there, warmed up to -3 when we left.

how thick was the ice and does it get thick enough up there to use a snowmobile?

Those guys pull their ice houses (really heavy) out on the ice with 4 wheelers. It should hold a snowmachine as long as you stay away from the springs.

Bump! Still waiting. I know some one has been there. All this quietness really has me thinking some thing hot is going on up that way.
